NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is seeking input on the scope of the environmental analysis for proposed Gulf of Mexico Lease Sales 250 and 251, tentatively scheduled for 2018.
BOEM proposes to offer for oil and gas leasing approximately 72 million acres of the approximately 160 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico, with certain exceptions
As part of this scoping process, the BOEM has scheduled public meetings in Gulfport, Mississippi (Sept. 6), Mobile, Alabama (Sept. 7), Houston (Sept. 13) and New Orleans (Sept. 15). In lieu of participation in these meetings, interested parties may submit written comments to the BOEM by Sept. 19. For additional information on the lease sales, contact Gary D.
